overwheeeeeeeelmed.whew.

it's been a busy week. and it's only the start of so many new things to come.
sometimes i wonder why i do this to myself repeatedly, but in my defense, i want to live a life with no regrets.
glass blowing is kicking my ass. class is 3 days a week, 2 hours each session, and i put in an additional 10 hours of studio time. don't get me wrong, i looooove learning something new, except, god damn we sweat like pigs in there!!(will post pictures of my creations soon).
the fashion show promotions class is full of drrrraaaaaaaaama. too much, even for anyone's mama. but it should be a great show nonetheless, and all i can say is, thank god i am not the director. But fundraising is such a pain in my ass, yet i'd rather work with friends in something i dislike than with drama queens in something i do like.does that make sense?haha.
my other three classes are fine, just the daily work and readings can get piled up.ugh.
i have officially finished my 200 hours of interning at UMEE, but the work is far from over. I have decided to stay on and assist, because I really do love what I get to do. This weekend we're doing a photoshoot and it's been hectic and chaotic planning the photographer, casting models, styling, getting the garments ready, choosing a location and props, and everything...but it's gonna turn out great. i have a good feeling that only the best is yet to come for us.if things go as planned, i am also going to be able to feature my custom made jewelry in the photoshoot as well. what a great opportunity.
i also joined the koto club..and we have yet to choose a name. hahaha. but it's just something weird and totally off the wall, but i have never not loved a day of playing it. well, and it helps that our teacher is so quirk-ily cute. tahahaha.
i got invited to join Phi Upsilon Omicron-a honor society for my department, and am now an active member (mainly so i could wear honor cords at graduation). I also just got notice to join the Mortar Board-another honor society, and the Entrepreneurs' club as well. decisions decisions. i already had to drop the idea of doing the Business Plan Competition because it was just getting too much.
my boss told me, good thing it's your last semester cause i don't know how you can do all of this-work, looking for a job after graduation, run your own small business, and have an active social life. hahah. beats me how i do it sometimes too.

the beach

yesterday was a "thank goodness i have a holiday" day off. a day to catch up on rest that escaped me the first week of school, and following a busy party weekend.

i spent the afternoon on the beach, in deep thought about what i was going to do with my life from here on out. and while i was sitting there, i got distracted by all the shells around me. So i started to pick some up, and even noticed some reallllly nice ones about the size of a peanut m&m. no cracks, no chips. perfectly round and smooth. and there were a lot! so i hurried along picking them up on both hands and knees, and suddenly realized..hey, how can there be so much of these and no one else has scooped them up yet? so i carefully examined them to finally come to the conclusion that i was picking up pistachio nut shells. great. just great.

so i sat back down in defeat, and along comes this couple walking their three dogs. a huge adult golden retriever comes running up to me, so i pet him, and suddenly, he turns around and decides to sit right on me!Just sitting, cruising, and wagging his tail for a good minute or so! I couldn't help but laugh until i realized that he was wet. And I could only hope that it was sea water. so the couple calls for him, and he scurries away, and after i thought they had disappeared into the distance, there he comes running back again to me. And the same thing happens...wants to be pet, then sits on me. just fabulous.

having one of those days where everything seemed to start off on the wrong foot,
but just ending up to be a really exciting day...and the day is far from over!

new opportunities, new experiences, and new friends.
what a good way to start off the school semester.

here's hoping that i'll be able to end my last semester with a BANG!

fresh start

today is the first day of my last semester of school...forever. kinda weird, but kinda exciting. it's amazing to think how fast these nineteen odd years of education have gone by. in a way, it's the end of everything i know, and the beginning of what is yet to come.
things have surely changed since i have started school, and if you were to ask me to go back and do something differently, i wouldn't be able to. you learn from your mistakes, and with that comes experience. good or bad, it's shaped you into the person you have become.
and with the new year, comes new resolutions. so here are mine.

1. get of debt. meaning, better money management skills.
2. spend more time doing things that actually matter. with that comes better organization, time management and more productivity.
3. read more. and not just my textbooks and magazines. but the newspaper and actual books on leisure time.
4. develop a better sleep pattern. it's amazing how much you can accomplish when you wake up before 12 noon!
5. do what you love.
